Harmony Day

On Wednesday the 21st of March, our school celebrated Harmony Day. Everyone dressed up in their cultural clothes or wore orange, which was the colour of Harmony Day. Our class looked spectacular! We did many fun Harmony Day activities to celebrate all the different cultures around the world. We even did an activity with our Pre-Primary buddies, which was great fun.

In our class, we are lucky enough to have families from all over the world! We have got families from Australia, America, Burma, Italy, China, Pakistan, India, France and Bangladesh. How lucky are we.

We discussed what Harmony Day meant to us and as a class we came up with the below definition.

“Harmony Day means that we celebrate and welcome people from different cultures. This makes our country culturally diverse. We need to show respect and include everyone, no matter where you come from.” - Room 16

In our classroom, you can see what Harmony Day means to each of us.
